    Invites: something western

Food: hotdogs, chips………you could do beans like real cowboys but prob. won’t be a fav.

    Cake: cowboy themed

Decor: Hay bails, red bandana printed table covers, red, blue, cow print balloons,

Games: pin the tail on the horse, squirt guns

Instead of goody bags give out the cheap straw hats, bandannas, and sherif badges

You may can find some “Woody” from Toy Story Birthday items. Also if you have like a Dollar Tree in your area they usually have cowboy hats in the toy section. They may also have little sheriff badges and little piistols (only if you want the kids to do the gun thing). Go to Wal-Mart and buy a yard of in-expensive cowboy theme material and make hankerchiefs to put around the kids necks. Have an adult or kid (you can trust) do rope tricks for the kids. Get an old stuff animal thats a pretty big size and let the kids ‘rope’ it like a cowboy would do in the rodeo. I’m sure you can come up with several other creative things on a budget.

Hope ur son has a great B-day!!

ALWAYS look at your nearby dollar stores. (they have things cheap) I googled “cowboy food” and alot of things came up that look good, most kids will not eat beans, but you can also do a fried chicken, corn on the cob, and a biscuit or corn bread. For the cake you can decorate it with cowboys and hats and horses, (you can find these cheap at a dollar store or at your local craft store) For goodie bags you can do candy rope, tiny toy fiqures, squirt guns, and other items from the wild west. For decorations you can have your son help make them get poster paper and draw wanted posters of friends and family who are invited. you can use green poster paper for cactus (you can get pattern ideas on the internet (google)
    Directions for vests:
1.To make the front opening, start at the open end of a paper grocery bag. Cut up the center of one side, and halfway across the bottom.
2.At the bottom of the bag, cut out a circle opening for the neck.
    3. If desired, taper the neckline into a v shape.
3.At both sides, cut arm holes, an inch or two below the neck opening.
    4. Cut fringe at the top of the bag (the bottom of the vest).
    5. As they arrive, guests can decorate their vests with markers, stickers, stamps, and paper badges.
you can have the kids wear jeans and plaid shirts and then create their own vests.

I did a cowboy party for my son for his last birthday. He was turning 3 and most of the kiddos were around that same age, so we kept the party pretty simple. We had it at 2:00 and only served punch and cake. For activities we made cowboy vests out of paper grocery bags. I got some stickers and crayons and markers and let each kid personalize their own vest. If you do a google search, you can find the instructions to do this pretty easily.
Then we “rustled” cattle. I took white balloons and put a small piece of candy or stickers in each one before blowing them up. Then we took a black marker and drew cow spots on them. when it was time for the game, we put all the balloons in a sectioned off area and told the kids they had to rustle up the cows (which really meant pop the balloons) and get the prizes inside. My son also has a rocking horse and my dad brought his lasso and we let the kids take turns trying to rope the horse.
for goodie bags, i took some plain brown paper lunch bags (really cheap) and traced a $ on them, stuffed them with candy and tied them with some brown yarn.
I splurged a little and got plastic cowboy hats, bandanas and sheriff badges for each kid from Oriental Trading Company, but it was well worth it and really helped carry the theme.
to save money on paper goods, I always buy 1/4 in whatever theme I’m doing and the rest in a coordinating solid color which is much cheaper and comes in much bigger packs.
